Glasgow Blend

Blended Scotch Whisky

Rich, smoky, sherried.

In his 1930s book ‘Whisky’, Aeneas McDonald teaches us that Glaswegians historically preferred fuller bodied and more flavour-packed whiskies than people in other parts of the world.

So what better name for a whisky such as this? Full, rich and smoky on the palate, with notes of baking spices and sherry wine notes.

Signature Serve

Grapefruit Mamie Taylor

An amazing twist on the classic Mamie Taylor, this pairs grapefruit juice with the smoky undertones of Glasgow Blend. While it sounds unusual, grapefruit and Glasgow Blend is a brilliant and complementary match. A refreshing and very flavourful cocktail at the same time!

50ml Great King Street Glasgow Blend
10ml grapefruit juice
100ml ginger beer
Zest of lime

Pour grapefruit juice into a glass full of ice. Add whisky and top with good quality, spicy ginger beer. Stir briefly and garnish with a zest of lime.

Signature Serve

Glasgow Blood & Sand

We believe a well-made Blood & Sand needs to use a Scotch whisky that will cut through and add its signature to the drink. Glasgow Blend is brilliant for this. This is more like what a Blood & Sand must have tasted like when it first arrived in the early 20th century.

30ml Great King Street Glasgow Blend
25ml Cherry Heering
25ml Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
25ml fresh orange juice

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a twist of orange zest.
