A magical whisky event like no other

Well, we’ve certainly never held an event quite like that before! Our Adventure in Deliciousness on Sunday included moments from world-renowned magician Joshua Jay that really do need to be seen to be believed

Thanks to everyone who joined us as we showcased our latest limited edition, Magic Cask. As our whiskymaker James Saxon said, "deliciousness is a kind of magic, and this is a whisky with so much depth and character". If you want to follow along with the tasting at home, you can buy your bottle of Magic Cask here. Scroll down for your tasting mat and set-up guide along with the full Q&A from the event and click below to watch.

There are plenty of reasons to watch (or re-watch) the stream. You can hear Guy Pratt from designers Stranger & Stranger talk about the design details he hides in some of our labels – a surprise for us too! And of course there was Joshua Jay. Saying too much would spoil the joy, but the sleight of hand he performed for us live was truly mind-boggling.

Magic Cask

We love pairing food with whiskies at Compass Box, so we’ve got some recommendations for Magic Cask for you to try. Both sea salt dark chocolate and Comté cheese are wonderful accompaniments. The cheese acts as a savoury foil to the whisky’s ripe orchard fruit notes while the chocolate alters the balance, reinforcing the cocoa and spice flavours hailing from that magical Sherry butt.

Our next Adventure in Deliciousness is taking place on June 27th and will celebrate Father’s Day. Save the date and stay tuned for more details!

P.S. We gave a sneak preview of new designs for Artist Blend and Glasgow Blend on Sunday, so watch this space and our social feeds for more news to come.
