The original blended grain Scotch whisky, reimagined.

Hedonism 2026 is the oldest and rarest Hedonism we have ever released, crafted from some of our most mature grain whiskies, with components aged up to 31 years. Richer and darker than previous editions, it remains unmistakably Hedonism: creamy, elegant, and quietly powerful.
First released in 2000 as the world’s first blended grain Scotch whisky, Hedonism has always challenged expectations.

Now released once a year as a Limited Annual Release, each edition allows us to reinterpret Hedonism’s character using increasingly rare stocks. For 2026, antique sherry casks enrich the blend for the first time, joining carefully selected bourbon casks to bring greater depth, structure, and maturity.
Layers of caffè latte, butterscotch, and orange cream open the palate. Rich notes of nougat, toasted hazelnut, and fine wood sugars follow, finishing with lingering milk chocolate. Silky, indulgent, and beautifully poised.

In 2000, Compass Box released the world’s first blended grain Scotch whisky. It was called Hedonism, and it revealed a side of Scotch that had long been overlooked. Creamy, elegant, quietly powerful.

From the beginning, Hedonism defied convention. In flavour, in form, and in spirit. It challenged expectations of what Scotch could be, becoming the first whisky to feature a female face on the label and placing imagination at its heart.

In 2023, Hedonism became a Limited Annual Release, allowing us to reimagine the whisky each year and explore the outer edges of its character.

The resulting 2026 release is richer and darker than ever before. The oldest Hedonism we have released to date. Confident, expressive, yet still unmistakably Hedonism.

This is Hedonism brought to life.

Flavour profile

Layers of caffè latte, butterscotch, and orange cream open the palate. Rich notes of nougat, toasted hazelnut, and fine wood sugars follow, finishing with lingering milk chocolate. Silky, indulgent, and beautifully poised.

Recommendations

Pair with silky Parma ham and fresh pear for a refined, savoury offering. Sweet and salted popcorn brightens the whisky’s aromatics, while chewy stroopwafel amplifies its spice and caramel. For the ultimate foray into all things Hedonism, pour slightly chilled into a large wine glass and pair with coffee & walnut cake.

THE PERFECT CHARACTER

For each Limited Annual Release, we invite a female artist to bring to life her own interpretation of the original Hedonism woman. For the 2026 release, multi-disciplinary artist Emma Hack invited actress, director, and proud Scot Karen Gillan to be her muse.

A lifelong whisky lover with roots in the Highlands and a presence on the world stage, Karen brings a contemporary energy to the Hedonism woman. As the first known face to step into this role for a Hedonism artist, she offers a living interpretation of an idea that has existed since the very beginning.

BROUGHT TO LIFE

This year’s Hedonism brings together whiskymaking and art through a shared process of composition.

Karen Gillan steps into the role of the muse. Emma Hack places her at the centre of a richly layered collage where body, landscape, and imagination come together. Building the image piece by piece, Emma transforms Karen into the glowing heart of the artwork, surrounded by colour, texture, and detail that reflect the depth and richness of the whisky itself.

In our Blending Room, the process is mirrored. Decadent parcels of whisky replace the artist’s palette, as they are meticulously layered to express the character of Hedonism in liquid form.

The result is Hedonism realised in both liquid and image, shaped through collaboration, creativity, and imagination.
