This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky is a limited edition blended malt Scotch whisky by Compass Box.

It is made from three single malt whiskies. Each one is aged exactly 10 years. Only 3,610 bottles have been made worldwide. Each is individually numbered.

Bottled at 50.5% ABV. Best enjoyed neat, or over ice.
Our whiskymakers started by asking: "What does transparency taste like?"

The answer: three exceptional single malts, combined to create something greater than the sum of its parts.

The Clynelish Distillery brings lemon, beeswax, peach and gentle salinity. The Ardnamurchan Distillery (Peated) adds flinty mineral peat, toffee and a signature funk. The Ardnamurchan Distillery (Unpeated) offers funky cereal, freshly-baked white chocolate cookies and apricot.
This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky tastes of orchard fruit - Pink Lady apple and rhubarb crumble - with custard, creamy white chocolate, and soft apricots.

WHAT DOES TRANSPARENCY TASTE LIKE?

By law, an age statement on a blended Scotch whisky can only show the age of the youngest whisky in the blend. This means a whisky drinker rarely knows exactly what is in their glass, or how old each part of it is.

At Compass Box, we believe whisky lovers deserve to know. That is why every whisky in this bottle is exactly 10 years old. And why we call it what it is: This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky.

This release marks ten years since Compass Box began publicly advocating for greater transparency in Scotch whisky. This whisky is a living example of that belief.

This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky is made from three single malt whiskies, from two different distilleries. Each component is aged exactly 10 years, all are matured in first-fill bourbon barrels.

Recommendations

Each component in this blended malt is an exceptional single malt on its own. It contains Clynelish we took as new-make and filled into our own wood, and layered with two exquisitly complex malts from Ardnamurchan. Not chill-filtered. No added colouring. No shortcuts. Nothing hidden. Full disclosure. Flavour first.

A celebration of the 10-year anniversary of our campaign for transparency, and an exercise in discovering what that would look like in terms of flavour, as we asked "What does transparency taste like?"

The profile of This is a 10-Year-Old Whisky was formulated from in-depth discussions within the Whiskymaking team about how far they could push both texture and clarity within a single blend. These are two qualities that usually find themselves on opposite ends of the scale. They achieved ultimate balance by pairing crisp clarity from Clynelish in rinsed bourbon casks with the textural lushness of peated & unpeated Ardnamurchan.
