Please drink creatively. Three words that say it all when it comes to our love of whisky experimentation. So while we specialise in what goes in the bottle, we love to share our passion for what happens when it gets to the glass.
Whether it’s the precision of a pitch-perfect neat serve, or the theatrical artistry of a complex cocktail, we want to encourage you to get creative with Compass Box. With the help of our good friends Rosey Mitchell and Manacháin Monaghan, winners of our global bartending competition The Circle, you can learn about some our favourites here then recreate them at home…
Hauf and Hauf
Two drinks, side by side. Each elevating the other. We like to carry on the tradition of this Scottish take on the boilermaker with a measure of Artist Blend and a delicious glass of craft beer.
Iceless Highball
This crisp, delicate and wonderfully simple serve brings out the fruity notes of Artist Blend. Best enjoyed on a sunny afternoon.
Penicillin
A modern classic. A combination of The Peat Monster and Artist Blend with a spicy honey-ginger syrup and the fresh citrus zing of lemon. A delicate balance, a pleasure to drink.
Pear and Whisky
This easy-going Highball twist will work well with any occasion. A beautifully simple recipe made to be shared and enjoyed.
Tea and Myrtle
Created by Three Sheets bartender and 2018 The Circle winner Rosey Mitchell, the herbal savoury notes of this cocktail gently balance the whisky’s fruity character, making for a bright, refreshing, yet earthy drink.
On The Rocks
It might sound simple, but perfecting this classic serve takes a keen eye for detail. Pre-chill Glasgow Blend in the freezer to enhance the syrupy mouthfeel, while ice cubes open up the layers of smoke.
Bobby Burns
Still served and enjoyed in honour of one of Scotland’s most influential poets. This crowd-pleaser is a delicious way to explore the depth of Glasgow Blend’s robust character.
Mamie Taylor
A lost classic of a Scotch whisky cocktail – super-refreshing, simple and quick to make. Cool and spicy ginger beer mixed with Artist Blend or Glasgow Blend makes this a real thirst-quencher for warmer weather.
Scotch Whisky Sour
Simplicity in three ingredients: sweet, sour and smoky. This well-balanced classic serve really showcases the versatility of Glasgow Blend.
Glasgow Coast Sour
A serve created by 2019 The Circle winner Manacháin Monaghan. A breadth of smoky flavours honour the urban heart of Glasgow, while subtle hints of shoreline vegetation nod to the Scottish coast.
